Poem: Keep On Believing

"Keep On Believing"

Children keep on believing,
fly around the world tonight.

Children keep on dreaming,
recreating the world each night.

Children keep on imagining,
building castles in the sky.

Children keep on seeing things,
with your eyes filled of wonders tonight.

Children keep on being children,
the world needs your magical light.

Poem: Capable of

"Capable of"

What am I capable of?

I am capable of many things.

The greatest kindness, generosity and love.
The greastest evil, violence and coldness.

Yes I have these qualities.

What am I able to do?

I will give you all that I have.
My money, my clothes and yes my life.

I can give nothing.
Unfeeling.

I can,
harm or help
hurt or heal
damage or repair
destory or build.

Yes I have these qualities.

Syrbastyian (Amaya)

Poem: There Is No Thing

 "There Is No Thing"

There is not one thing,
you can do to me that we harm me.

There is nothing, no pain,
you can give me that will hurt me.

There is nothing you can do,
to make me blink.

I am nothing, stone, ice, cold.
I am numb to all harm or pain,
that you can cause me.

World you can do nothing to me.
I survive, I live, I survive.
I always do.

But be warn.
Harm the ones I love,
harm my sweetness,
My wrath will know, no bounds.
I will tear your soul apart.

Syrbastyian (Amaya)

Poem: Do Nothing

"Do Nothing"

Millions cry,
yet we do nothing.

Millions can't see,
yet we do nothing.

Millions can't fill their bellies,
yet we don't do anything.

Millions are sick!
Millions DIE!

Yet we do Nothing Nothing and NOTHING.

Syrbastyian (Amaya)

Poem: Changes

"Changes"

Changes, good or bad.
They happen,
they are in ways needed.

Changes,
needed, wanted or not.

They bring new things,
sometimes good, some not,
but its a part of life.

Changes are all the time.

We don't see them at times.

Think we, they stay the same,
but in everything there is change.

All things change.

Syrbastyian (Amaya)

Poem: Come With Me

"Come With Me"

Come with me,
you and I.

Go with me,
a new life.

Dance with me,
together in rhythm.

Come with me,
you, me, us,
this time.

Syrbastyian (Amaya)

Poem: IF YOU ASK

"If You Ask"

If you ask me to cook for you,
I will say sure what would you like.

If you ask me to massage you,
I will say certainly what oil would you like.

If you ask me to kiss you,
I will say definitey its my pleasure to.

If you ask me to hold you,
I will say absolutely I will hold you all night.
If you ask me to die for you,
I will say, yes I am able to,
BUT I will live for you and not die, that I promise you.

Well the books went on sale in the book store in Japan on Sunday (22nd November 2009).

I went and check out a few book store to see how the books were selling. The "Listening" book is selling more that the "Reading" one but this is understandable since most Japanese struggle more with listening part of the Toeic test than the reading part.

I do hope that the books are a marvelous success, Emiko (The author) has worked hard on them to make a book that will benefit everyone wishing to take the Toeic test.

With this I have put Emiko Matsumoto's photograph, Bio-info and a link to her blog {Click the title of my blog} (sorry all in Japanese). Plus as you can better pictures of the two books and there covers.  So what are you waiting, quickly run to the book-store, jump on-line and buy the books today, no now, before they are all sold out. Seriously everyone, they are wonderful books and will definitely help anyone wanting to get a better score in the Toeic test. So I do highly recommend that you buy them for yourself, someone you know or please recommend them. Furthermore the cool thing about the books is the size: large enough to be read easily but small enough to be carry in a bag, jacket-pocket. So you can use the books basically anywhere plus with the listening section being down-loadable, well you are free to practice just about anywhere.

Enjoy everyone.

Toeic Books

A colleague of mine , Emiko Matsumoto 松本恵美子, at Nichibei Eigo Gakuin Shibuya school 日米英語学院渋谷校 has been working on some Toeic books for the listening and reading parts of the Toeic test.

Ms. Emiko Matsumoto asked me if I could help with the books by checking the English for grammar, structure, vocabulary use and naturalness.

I was only too happy to do this for her because I had never done this type of book editing work before and also if someone who is going to write something to be publish I want me to help, I will assist them in any way I can.

So now the books are finished.

The titles of the books are:

新TOEIC TEST 必達 550点 「リスニング編」

新TOEIC TEST 必達 550点 「リーディング編」

or in Roman letters:

shin TOEIC TEST  hittatsu 550 ten" "Listening hen"

shin TOEIC TEST  hittatsu 550 ten" "Reading hen"

They are being published by Nippon Nikkei Keizai Shimbunsha 日本日系経済新聞社.
They will be on sale at book stores throughout Japan on the 22nd of November 2009, Sunday
The price will be 945yen each and there is a web-site in which you will be able to download the listening material and some other things as well.

I enjoyed doing this work very much and I hope that the books sell well, so you guys out there BUY A COPY even it you do not need one. Want a signed copy, then hey, get a copy and I will sign it and more importantly I will ask Emiko, the author, to sign it as well.

In all seriousness though, I believe that if you are studying for the Toeic test, interested in taking the test, or know someone you is, then you should get these books or recommend the books to the people you know; these books will help you to get a higher score in the Toeic test.

I am proud of the work done and hope that more work like this will follow.

I would very much like to thank Emiko for asking for my help. I enjoy the work quite a lot. Also I am humble by the fact that Emiko had my name put on the front cover of the books under her name. This is a great honour, a wonderful surprise and I am full of gratitude.

Eventually I hope to be writing my own material but probably not text books but poetry or stories (fiction and non-fiction), then again I think that all my years of teaching have given me something to write about in a text book that may benefit people who wish to develop and improve their English communication skills.

I have included some photographs of the (possible) covers. The covers will look something similar to these photos. My apologies for the low quality of the photographs, I took them with my mobile phone.

There you have it. That is what I have been doing recently.

Buy a copy, it will make you feel good about yourself, lol.

Short-Story: The Magic Castle, Yellow Room

" The Magical Castle, Yellow Room "

Once upon a time there lived a most lovely and amazing cute princess, who lived a magical castle in the land of Easthugeisland.

One day the princess decided that she wanted to eat yellow-marshmallows, so she went to the yellow-room, where all the yellow things are kept in the magical castle, but she could not find the yellow-marshmallows.

Where are the yellow-marshmallows, she asked herself.

She had looked everywhere: in the yellow-wardrobe, under the yellow-tables, behind the yellow-curtains. Everywhere yellow and anything yellow she looked in, under, behind, beside, above, on top of, below, around just everywhere! and still she could not find the yellow-marshmallows.

She was feeling very tired and a little sad, and was about to give up on her search for the yellow-marshmallows.
When all of a sudden she realised that, that morning, she had just created yellow-marshmallows because she had dreamt of roasting yellow-marshmallows for the picnic next week in her dream.

Happy with her self discovery, she set about asking her servants (who would do anything for the amazing cute and wonderful princess) to make yellow-marshmallows to roast at the amazingly wonderful picnic next week.

Tomorrow she will be able to wake up to the delight of knowing that next week she will be able to roast yellow-marshmallows the amazingly wonderful picnic.

And, life was wonderful and fantastic for the most lovely and amazingly cute princess.

She lived her days happily ever after.

Poem: Love You, Two

" Love You Two "

I like your nose.
I like your toes.
I like you feet.
You have nice teeth.
I like your smile,
it shines through your beautiful eyes.
I like the clothes you wear,
especially when you have no underwear.
I like all things about you.
I guess I am trying to say is that I like you.

Poem: There Is

" There Is "

If there is love, let me know it, for it's knowing is greater than the loss of it.

If there is love, let me see it, the radiant beauty of it will burn in me when my eyes can no longer see.

If there is love, let me hear it, it's heavenly sound fills me with tears, and it reverberates through me soul when my ears fails in winter years.

If there is love, let me feel it, the loss of it will destroy me, crush my soul to nothingness, turn me dead inside
but this pales to never having felt the love of true love.

One may learn to love again? and may find another love?

Of true love, only love, real love. one can never experience that again.

For this love is made of the stars, it's made of dreams, It is a millenium event.

Born and destine to be.

This love, once had can never be blessed again upon we.

If there i love, let me touch it, to hold in my arms while it sleeps.

A simple kiss, Oh! how magical, to feel it's caress on my lips.Hold close and lay in love, for the two become as one.

If there is love, let me experience it, It is the most joy est thing that one can have in all one's years.

If there is love, let me have it, even if it one day I may lose it? having it is far greater than my tears and empty years.

If there is love, There is love.

Poem: Come Again

" Come Again "

Here's some news,

I am free from 2 to 5,

Wish to see your heavenly wings.
Wish to fly  with you in the clear blue sky.
But if i remember yamada or ? has reserved you,

Alas not enough time.

No need to worry, no need to cry.

Time will come again,

To meet, to share, to enjoy our smiles.

Until then keep our thoughts and time together in happy memories,

For we are born to be, you and I.

Short-Story: The Magical Castle, Pink Room

" The Magical Castle, Pink Room "

Once upon a time there lived a most lovely and amazing cute princess, who lived a magical castle in the land of Easthugeisland.
One day the princess decided that she wanted to eat pink-popcorn, so she went to the pink-room, where all the pink things are kept in the magical castle, but she could not find the pink-popcorn.
Where is the pink-popcorn, she asked herself.
She had looked everywhere: in the pink-cupboards, under the pink-socks, behind the pink-chairs. everywhere pink and anything pink she looked in, under, behind, beside, above, on top of, just everywhere! and still she could not find the pink-popcorn.
She was feeling very tired and a little sad, and was about to give up on her search for the pink-popcorn.
When all of a sudden she relised that popcorn is usually white and kept in the white room.
That morning, she had just invented pink-popcorn because she had dreamt of eating pink-popcorn in her dream.
Happy with her self discovery, she set about getting the white-popcorn from white room and turning it into pink-popcorn and putting it in the pink room.
Tomorrow she will be able to wake up to the delight of eating pink-popcorn in the pink room.
And, life was wonderful for the most lovely and amazingly cute princess.
She lived her days happily ever after.

Poem: It's Not

" It's Not "

It's not that I've loved and lost.
It's that, that I have loved.

It's not that I have seen and forgot.
It's that, that I saw.

It's not that I have heard a word.
It's that, that I have listened.

It's not that my fight was just or not.
It's that, that I have fought.

It's not that I say or not.
It's that, that I think.

It's not that is not or not.
It's that, that there is.

Poem: Dream

" DREAM "

Off to sleep I go,
To journey through various dreams,

I will see you there,
With your princess glow and angel wings.

When I wake,
I will know,

You are not just my sleeping fantasy.

My dream,

My dream come true,

My reality.

Poem: Train Home

" Train Home "

I am sitting in the 1st train-car on the 2nd bench-seat to the right.

The train has started it's forward journey to deliver me home.

Passing stations, I watch the people and imagine their day - their conversations.

As I am,
I am reminded of wandering thoughts travelling through my mind.

I don't stop them,
I let them journey so they find their way home.

NOVA 御茶ノ水校

I have working for one of the franchises of the new nova. I know I said I would not work for them and it is true. I am not working for them, I am working for the franchise owner. My contract is with him, NOT with nova.

So for those who want to practice their English but are not so serious about it and do not want to spend a lot of money, well come to Ochanomizu nova ( 御茶ノ水校 ), it is only a 2 minutes walk from Ochanomizu JR station & Shin-Ochanomizu Metro-station (Chiyoda-line) or a 5 minute walk from Ogawamachi station (Toei Shinjuku-line).

There is the address, telephone number and access to Ochanomizu branch (御茶ノ水校):

東京都千代田区神田駿河台 4丁目 2番地 3号 プリザイド御茶ノ水ビル 1階

Telephone Number; ( 03 ) 6912 1078

If the above branch is not good for you then try one of the other franchise branches but NOT the G-COM branches.

Join one of the franchise branch because they will treat you better and respectfully.

The G-COM branches only want your money.

Also they will want you to take off your shoes because they think they can treat you like children. Please refuse to take off your shoes.

They have this rule because (A) the want to delay you for sales talking and (B) they think that Adult students are child-jukku students and must treated like children.

" SOMETIMES "

" SOMETIMES "

Sometimes I feel I am the summer storms that blow her off the trees.
To fall so gentle and gracefully like light pink snow on the breeze.
And yet, in this beautiful action, she will wither and disappear or worse be trodden under feet.

Sometimes I think I am the tree, standing strong to support her needs.
Providing a safe haven to relax, to grow, to blossom so that she may become as wonderfully magnificent as she can be.

Her internal-external beauty and radiance enthralls me, captivates and goes through me.
She holds me. I can not run away or escape.
But do I really want to.
Confused.

I could break her. Crush her petals.
Chase her and force her away from me.
It would be oh so easy.
But I can not, want not, will not.
Hurting her is hurting me.
Hurting is her would be killing me.

What to do?

This scares me, she scares me, opening scares me.
Break the walls, keep the walls, make a hole in the walls.
Move forward, move back, move closer, move away, move nothing, move to stay.
Pause, wait, go.
Take the plunge, sit on my hands.

What to do? What to do?

I am honest but should I be.
Honesty can hurt but honesty is me.
I want to be faithful but can I be.
Maybe I will not.
Ever be.
Need to be.

Point may break, point to change, point to think.
The point may be major or may be mundane.

Oh but but, but oh.

The thought of her makes my heart flutter.
The sight of her makes my heart pound like a sledgehammer.

The feel of her body against mine, next to mine.
Her fragrance all around me, covering me like a perfect blanket.
The sweet honey taste of her on my lips.
I die and am reborn with each breath, each touch, each taste.
Each time, every time.

Sometimes I am sure.
Sometimes I am confused
She is always a wonder, a mystery, magic.

Sometimes I am the summer storms.
Sometimes I am the tree.

FOREWORD: Poem - " America Is Me "

Straight to the point:

I am not American or as we say in Australia "a Yank / Yankee" and I have never wanted to be American. (Yes I know that in the U.S.A. a "Yankee" is an American from the northern states in America but for the rest of the world a "Yankee" simply means an American)

I am an Australian living in Tokyo, Japan.

So it may seem strange to you that I would write a poem about being American and living in the United Sates of America.

My reasons for doing are many fold:

1) It was a challenge for myself to write as another person may see, feel and, or think.

2) America voting a black man to be the president of their country is a turning point for America and quite frankly an historical event. It has shown the world the that democracy and equal rights for all DO WORK.

3) I have spoken to many of my American friends, Americans I know less well, Americans in chat rooms & BBS's throughout the world about their views and feelings at seeing Mr. Obama elected as President.
And also watching TV such as CNN etc and seeing the reaction of people in America, the TV-people and the people around the world.
I have tired to capture all this in my poem "America Is Me". I hope that I have done them justice.

Syrbastyian

Poem: America Is Me

" America Is Me "

I watched a black man walk down the steps,
and stand before a kaleidoscope crowd.

He took an oath and promised to defend this land.

A simple act but in it contains so much.

It renews the faith,
the dreams and hopes,
That were fading, and even dying,
but were help so dear before.

I had lost faith in America,
lost belief in it's possibilities,
forgotten it's hope and the American dream.

I should have known better,
cause this land, these people,
in the end succeed.

To light a path,
to light the way,
for all to see.

This nation of all nations,
shows all that dreams become possibilities,
and in-turn become realities.

I watched a black man walk down the steps,
and he gave a speech.
Not some long-winded sermon,
but short, true and sweet.

The crowd held to every word,
some smiled, some nodded, some wept.

Words that spoke of past and it's hard won betterness.
Words that spoke of present realities and needs.
Words that spoke of and inspired hope.
But most of all they spoke of personal responsibility,
and reminded us all that it is this, which we must accept gladly.

He spoke of country,
this great nation,
full of immense beauty.
The beauty of the land that comes from it's people.

It is these people,
who hold these truths firm and do more than dream.
They say "Yes We Can" and work to make ideas real.
And this affirms the American way, an American life.

America the beautiful,
America the brave,
The Amercian dream.

A land,
made of all people,
of all nations,
and of all tribes,

This is what makes the nation so great.
All the differences create one identity.

Where every person of the great country,
can say and know in their heart,
Amercia is me.

Poem: Cigarettes

" Cigarettes "

Cigarettes, what is wrong with them.

Every government is against them,
though they are perfectly happy to hoard the tax the get from them.
Take these dividends to spend and cover misspent deeds.

Seems like everyone says NO! NO!,
but secretly inside they too want to know the selfish pleasure.
The selfish pleasure of cigarettes.

Rebel, rebel against the P.T.A. hypocritical endocrine.
The P.T.A. moral mongering,
but in the back rooms they are puffing away.

Coffee and cigarettes,
Tea and cigarettes,
Alcohol and cigarettes,
Sex and cigarettes,
It is perfect, it is natural, it is meant to be.

Go on, light up, have a cigarette.
Enjoy it, take pleasure in it.
Feel good about you.

Cigarette, it not a bad habit.
It is a statement to live my life my way.

Poem: Say I Love You

" Say I Love You "

If I say "I love you" everyday,
does that make the words mean less.

If I say "I love you", once a year.
Does that make the words mean more.

How about I just say,

I love you.

Poem: A Soft Touch

" A Soft Touch "

A soft touch,
a gentle caress,
sends shivers down my spine.

It warms me,
and burns through me.

Lips around me,
covering me.
I let them take me inside.

Take me to heaven,

My turn to return the journey.

Travel to paradise.

A soft touch.

Poem: What Is It About

" WHAT IS IT ABOUT "

What is it about sex.
That makes people crazy, lose all sense of reality.

What is it that drives us to sex.
But makes us confused and at times feel guilty,
feel inadequit, feel like we should be in shame.

It is beautiful, sex is.

It is magical, sex is.

It is what we should be.

Poem: Eyes

" Eyes "

Eyes, my god, what we can see in them
read in them.

They are the widows to what we hold inside.

You may laugh,
but your eyes say another thing.

You may show kindness,
but your eyes show the coldness held within.

Eyes, what magic they can display.

What mysteries they hide to show or keep away.

Poem: We Dream

" We Dream "

Where do dreams come from?
Where do hopes begin?

We hope to dream of better days, better things.
We dream of hope not seen, not filled, not in our lives.

But we lose our self in life,
in the everyday monotone monotony.

We live, we dream.
We live and lose dreams, forgot them.

Is it good?
Is it the reality we seek?
Is there a better truth?
A new reality.

Why don't we stick to what is real,
what is true, what is factual and solid.

Yet we hope,
and yet we dream.

Will it come true, become real,
or not to be.

Poem: Women

" Women "

Women, you just can not win.

You want a fuck,
and she wants a relationship.

You want a relationship,
and she wants sex or even worse to be friends.

But oh! they are so delicious,
so heavenly to feel, smell and taste.

So divine to be with, to be in.
In their warmth.

Women, you just can not win.

We men will always and forever lose.

We will always fall at their angelic feet.
